CZ LINGUA Czech for foreigners Ltd is a language center specializing in Czech language instruction in Prague. We offer courses for all proficiency levels, in both individual and small group formats. We will open group courses for as few as two students; the maximum number of students in a group course is five, which ensures that we can give each student individual attention. For individual courses, we will consult with you to design the plan of study and choose the most appropriate textbooks. Often we also arrange for courses to take place in our students’ workplace or home. And of course we include ongoing testing, assessment of current proficiency levels, and establishment of goals of the course. Successful participants will receive a certificate of course completion.

Our language center’s comfortable, modern facilities are equipped with up-to-date audio/video equipment (PCs, TVs, DVD players, projectors, etc.), and there is free internet access available in each classroom. Our goal is to provide a pleasant and learning-conducive environment for our students and teachers. The language center has excellent public transportation access (metro, trams, buses), lovely and quiet surroundings, and is situated ten minutes’ walk from Prague Castle.

Each course is done on the basis of a contract, which specifies the price, length and number of instruction hours, cancellation policies, and other details. The per-lesson price is fixed, and if the client wishes (particularly for corporate courses), the lesson price can include additional services such as initial and ongoing testing during the semester, or regular monthly reports on attendance and progress (as feedback for the company’s management). We will work with you flexibly and professionally to respond to your requests and suggestions, whether it concerns an adjustment to the course content or switching to a different teacher, if your expectations for the course are not being met.. Long-term courses can be even be paid retroactively at the end of the month – thus, you would pay only for the lesson hours that you actually attended.

CZ Lingua is a language center specializing exclusively in teaching Czech as a foreign language. The school library is regularly updated with the latest publications in the field of Czech as a foreign language. Thanks to the extensive collection of titles in our library, students can continue their study with us using the textbooks they are familiar with. We also provide students with information on all currently available examinations of Czech as a foreign language, and we are happy to help students prepare for them.

Are you a recent arrival in Prague? With us, you will have the opportunity to meet new people – we organize regular meetings and social events for our students and teachers. We are also happy to help you get acquainted with your new surroundings. We can help you fill out necessary applications and other forms, and we can even facilitate Czech-language phone calls for you. Do you live outside of Prague? For all our courses, both individual and group, we offer a free trial lesson with no obligation. During this lesson, you will meet with your future teacher, beginners will start learning Czech pronunciation and a few words, more advanced students will review a few things they’ve already learned, and everyone will get their first homework assignment! You are also welcome to sit in on a group lesson, and decide afterwards if you want to join that course.

According to the new residency laws, each applicant for permanent residency in the Czech Republic must pass an examination testing their knowledge of the Czech language. This requirement does not apply to citizens of the European Union, Norway, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Switzerland, and their family members. CZ Lingua organizes preparatory courses for this examination (the Czech Certificate Exam, Level A1), in cooperation with Charles University.

CZ Lingua donates to the charity organization Adopce na dálku (Adoption from Far Away). Thanks to our financial support, a little girl in Uganda named Lamulah has been able to attend school since 1992.
